In 1641 Micha\u0142 Piotr Boym \u2013\u00a0a graduate of the Jagiellonian University and Jesuit, went\u00a0for a mission to China. He studied Chinese medicine\u00a0on the imperial court of Yongli \u2013 the last emperor of the\u00a0Ming dynasty. Yongli made him a deputy to the pope.\u00a0He was the first European, who had moved knowledge of\u00a0Chinese medicine to Europe. He was also the one, who\u00a0published the first works on the subject.\u00a0One of the first ten dissertations on Chinese medicine\u00a0in Europe had been defended in Krakow in 1830 at the\u00a0Jagiellonian University. J\u00f3zef Domaszewski dedicated it\u00a0to acupuncture.\u00a0The very first TCM teaching in Poland started in 1986\u00a0in Krakow. It successfully continues until now in the\u00a0Institute of Chinese Medicine and Health Prophylaxis.\u00a0Moreover, Polish Association of Traditional Chinese\u00a0Medicine was founded here. Finally, Krakow has the largest\u00a0Chinese Medicine Centre in Poland, which employs\u00a019 specialists offering full scope of TCM methods.<\/p>\n<h3>See Krakow<\/h3>\n<p>Krakow \u2013 the former royal capital of Poland, one of\u00a0the most beautiful cities in Europe and one of the best\u00a0tourist destination. The entire medieval Krakow Old\u00a0Town was among the first sites chosen for the UNESCO\u00a0World Heritage Sites List, with the largest Main Square\u00a0considered to be the most beautiful square in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Jagiellonian University is one of the oldest in Europe\u00a0\u2013 established in 1364. Krakow became distinguished\u00a0center for business, conventions, festivals and artistic\u00a0events. It is a city of many museums, music clubs, caf\u00e9s\u00a0and restaurants with astonishing climate and excellent\u00a0cuisine.
